Every result comes from your browser's cryptographically secure random generator (crypto.getRandomValues) with rejection sampling, so each face is exactly equally likely – fairer than many plastic dice. What is a dice roller?
A dice roller (or dice rolling simulator) is a program that picks random numbers the same way a physical die would: each side of an s-sided die has a 1-in-s chance. It is handy when dice go missing from a board game box, when you play over a video call, when you need a lot of dice at once, or when you want the dice added up for you. With advantage you roll 1d20 twice and keep the higher result; with disadvantage you keep the lower. Set the dice roller to 2 dice of d20 and read both values. The average roll with advantage is about 13.8 instead of 10.5, and with disadvantage about 7.2.
Dice roll formula: average, minimum and maximum
Average of NdS + M = N × (S + 1) ÷ 2 + M
The lowest possible result is N + M and the highest is N × S + M. For example, 3d6 averages 3 × 3.5 = 10.5 and ranges from 3 to 18; 1d20 averages 10.5; 2d10+2 averages 13. That is how to calculate the dice roll average for any combination – the tool shows all three numbers under the total.
How to calculate dice roll probability
For one fair die, the probability of any single face is 1 ÷ S – a one-in-six chance (16.67%) for a d6 and 5% for each number on a d20. For two or more dice, count the combinations that give the total you want and divide by all combinations, Sᴺ.

Two six-sided dice give 6 × 6 = 36 equally likely outcomes. Seven is the most common total because six combinations make it (1+6, 2+5, 3+4, 4+3, 5+2, 6+1):

A double (both dice the same) comes up 6 times in 36, or 1 in 6. To work out the dice roll odds of "at least one six" in several rolls, use the complement: 1 − (5/6)ⁿ. Dice roller for Ludo, Snake and Ladder and board games
For Ludo and Snake and Ladder, set 1 die of d6: you get a normal 1-6 roll with dots, just like the physical die. In Ludo a 6 lets a token leave home and earns another turn, so press Space again after a six. Monopoly and many family games use 2 dice – set the count to 2 and the total and any doubles are shown together. Yahtzee needs 5 dice; roll all five, then note which ones you keep.
