How to calculate hours between two times
The hours calculator formula is:
Hours worked = (End time − Start time) − Break
- Convert both times to minutes after midnight: hours × 60 + minutes.
- If the end time is earlier than the start time, add 1,440 minutes (24 hours) to the end time – that is an overnight shift.
